Hello Anthony,
I’m glad you decided to share your work, thank you very much for taking the plunge.
“Side run cycle”
The posture of the character feels a little unnatural with a straight back, when running I tend to lean forward to help with momentum and show drive toward that direction. I like how the fingers “flick” out as they reach extremes in the movement. The thumb stands out as being stationary though the movement is quick. Overall some great poses and timing used as far as I am concerned.
“lipsync animation”
I enjoyed this one, the animation and expressions are interesting and the sync feels right. There is some polish left on it with keyframes standing out on eyebrows and probably playing with overall curves between key poses so the transaction feels a bit more natural (0:01, 0:03, 0:04, 0:06, 0:07, etc.)
“walk cycle”
Very nice idea showing the silhouettes! I like the heel-toe movement with each step how the toe almost flicks downward into the ground. The little bit of squash-stretch (unless my eyes are making that up) on the torso does great at showing weight with each step. I like the triangular-esque form from the feet stepping more internally though their placement still feels like a natural walk.
“side step”
I like the “U” movement of the torso as it slides and nice subtle anticipation before starting the shift right. Watch the placement of the right foot (on figure, left as viewed) the placement as far as rotation is concerned seems like it is merely shifted right or on the x axis, I would add a rotation even if just barely to distinguish it a bit more and feel a little more random and organic.
Nice work overall, keep up the progress and sharing.
