animating veins or branches "growing"?

#1

How would you create vein or plant that grows new branches? I’m sure I’ve seen a tutorial that covers something similar but can’t think where.

If im right, there is a Videotutorial on that subject by Larry Shultz. But im not shure if it is on his free Training series or on one of the comercial ones. ( It works with Splines and Hypervoxels)

And maby have a look at : http://pagesperso-orange.fr/dpont/plugins/TreeCage_Lscript.htm
this may help to.

Hope this helps.

Have a nice Day

fertilizer is awsome!

I started with some basic tubes, trying to get them starting at the correct time and then thought, “well, I’ll try making all the branches from a single object in modeller”…I made a single poly, grabbed magic bevel and made some random “brances”, then some more, and more until I had a mess of branches in all directions, all from the one original poly. Made a weight map, loaded the plugin and was amazed that the whole thing worked like a charm…the branches all grew in a fairly realistic way and my gob was smacked!

Freebie plugin saves the day again!

Here’s a very short test animation, just to make sure that I can do what I’m hoping to do.

Looks great but i wish the growing viens had a little more depth to them but good all the same.

well it was just a test, the job didn’t go anywhere but I’ve got some ideas for other things. It’s a really good plugin and probably the easiest animation plugin I’ve used…well, it must be easy if I used it at all:D
