Hey guys,
My problem is I need to animate realistically a pipe that goes between a base and a opening and closing lid. So I need the top part of the pipe (Single mesh) to stay with the top part and the bottom part to stay on the base. Think maybe a string the opens with a chest lid either side that is locked to certain points. I also need to be able to get this animation on bones for with my maya to unity pipeline.
I’ve seen lots of tutorials on animating wires and tubes and various thing and I think I have a good understanding to set up the correct behavior of a wire/pipe using the dynamic curves and hair system.
My issues are that the part attached to the lid will stay in the same place but it will rotate - which I do not want and the end part attached the the base seems to rotate around crazy.
I wondered if anyone has animated anything similar or has any solutions to my problems.
