Animated boat in ocean with wake problems

Hi,

I’m trying to do something very simple but doesn’t seem to be working, this might not be the relevant forum though. Its simply just a boat in an ocean moving forwards, i’ve applied the thing to make it bob on the water realisitically but when i apply the wake it just bounces up and down like mad and has a ripple effect instead of a gliding through the water effect. Is there anyone who can help me? I cant find a decent tutorial online anywhere. I’ll appreciate anything!

You might want to give us mre info to go on. Like what software you are using (required info really), and maybe a sample image of the problem.
