Animate object properties in Maya

Hello,

I looking at Vue for a future project. Now trying it with the PLE xstream in Maya.
But I cant seem to figure out how to animatie properties of an object.
What I want to do is let the leaves of a tree grow over time. When I change the properties there comes a popup asking me if I want is to be animated. But I dont get keyframes when I say yes.
Is it possible to animate the leaves size property or any property inside Maya with the vue plugin? And how do I do this if its possible?

In order to animate a tree growth, you need to use the plant editor.

yes, I understand that is where I change the properties.
But how do I place keys in the timeline?

Keyframes are automaticall y created.
Load a tree in your scene, make it look how you want it to look at frame zero. Drag the timeline to some other non zero time, reopen the plant editor and modify your tree., the keyframe will be created.
And so on.
