I posted this picture a few months ago but I took out from my portfolio because I am still not satisfied with it. Please friends, help me to improve this scene.

Very nice style! I also like the colours very much. Here just a view ideas if going for improvements, but all in all already a lovely picture:

 • The face of the young lady could be more expressive - a friendly smile or sth… Her had could be also turned more toward her friends (the perspective on her looks different like this).
 • Concerning the expression, the same for the frog there, looking not really like a friend.
 • There’s too much reflection on the girls right arm from the back. Her little candle could give slightly more light instead, more reddish perhaps.
 • Personally i don’t like much the blur on the tree in the FG - the sudden DOF doesn’t really fit the style.(working with brightness to convey depth is enough here, imo)

But otherwise very well done!

I would like to draw like you. I do not know why you think this picture is not worth showing. I understand that the artist is never completely happy with your work, but without exaggeration. I do not know how to do backgrounds, animals and nature. I envy your talent.

This is a beautiful piece, but it’s flaw is how it darkens at the edges. It’s a photographic effect, and it makes it uncomfortably closed in and claustrophobic. It’s almost like a tunnel-vision effect. You have great colors, but they’re being closed off by all the black.

I think if you can adjust that, and some of the suggestions already given, it will finish this piece. Great work!

Hey there sergiofilho

Overall a great picture, so immediate kudos from my part.

In my opinion, here’s my immediate input:

[ul]
[li]I’ll second the opinion concerning her facial expression. I feel that it’s a bit too static for the intended warmth you want to portray in the scene (if that’s your intention, that is.)[/li][li]I would personally like to see some fabric creases in her dress. Right now, it feels a bit too tube-like for my personal liking, especially when comparing to the frogs’ clothes.[/li][li]Have you considered making the frogs’ skin more reflective - wetter? I don’t know, might be worth a try.[/li][/ul]

Hope it’s useful!
