Andrew Wyeth Died Today

Several times a year I visit the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford Pennsylvania, home of Andrew Wyeth. The museum is home to many Wyeth paintings from Andrew’s father N.C. Wyeth and Andrew’s son Jamie. Though Andrew was known for his landscapes, he also has a large boby of figurative work depicting the people he knew and lived with in Chadds Ford. He was 91.

Oh wow! Thanks for the news, I hadn’t heard. It’s funny because I hadn’t even realized he was still living until I went to the 2006 retrospective that they mentioned in the article. What a passing of an American legend. His work is amazing.
