i was having a problem with it actually. i managed to download it from the site you have given a link to but when i was unpacking the file it showed a message thet the file is corrupt. so it only created an empty folder with no pdf file in it. did anyone have the same problem? looks like something doesn’t want me to have the book hehe.

#24

I just downloaded the Figure Drawing For All It’s Worth PDF. The link works fine and the file is uncorrupted.

#25

the link does work, it’s the file itself that does not want to unpack properly. i don’t know why…

#26

I managed to uncompress the zip properly. It’s uncorrupted on my end.

It’s a good book so let’s all try to help marcheen out. Are you able to uncompress other zip files or more specifically the other Loomis books hosted on rapidshare.de?

In general, countries that are signatories to the Berne Convention must provide a minimum level of copyright protection. The convention states that literary works will be protected for the life of the original author, plus fifty years (when did Loomis pass away?). The convention also states that signatories are free to extend the duration of protection which is what the USA did if 1998 when it passed the Sonny Bono Copyright Term Extension Act. The result is that an author’s copyright would last until seventy years after his death, while copyrights for works of corporate authorship would last 75 to 95 years. There were other changes to US copyright law so the safest action is to follow the guidelines set out by Project Gutenberg, who is creating eBooks of public domain literary works.

I found a “Drawing the head and hands, by Andrew Loomis” recent re-print - in spanish…

The book was re-printed by an Argentine publishing house, “Edicial”, in 2001. As far as I can tell, it’s just a translation, and no other content was changed. The Publishing house also states that they re-printed all of the other books, except “Fun with a Pencil”. I found it in my local Borders bookstore (and 2 other copies) in Carolina, Puerto Rico for $24.99 US. The ISBN is 950-506-080-7.

Talking about his method:

That you think on…?

“Creative Illustration” pag 177

The Store. There are five essentials:

  1. Visualization
  2. Dramatization
  3. Characterization
  4. Arrangement
  5. Embellishment

Again, thanks.

Anyone has Loomis’s “Drawing the Head and Hands” in PDF?
Or seen it somewhere?

I found ‘Drawing the Heads & Hands’ in PDF on the RapidShare site:

http://rapidshare.de/files/2583083/Drawing_Heads_And_Hands.zip.html

Usual RapidShare rules apply, at least one download a month or it gets automatically removed from their server

You lucky dog! That book’s going price is usually well over a hundered dollars! Was it totally beat up or something? Maybe the owner just had no idea how rare the book is. . …
