This is a matte painting that I have been working on in my own spare time. I’ve been messing around with the Mayan style temple but it doesn’t seem to fit in with the surrounding scenery. Any crits and comments welcome.

Thanks

Hi!, This actually is looking well, the only thing though that pops out for me and the reason why the mayan tmple is not sitting snuggly on the image is :

  1. The shadows of your forest is on the other sid, (left and the light is from the right).
  2. Sharpness, it so sharp… while the surrounding areas is blurry

You might also want to try and tweak a little bit on your images, especially the foreground elements, because some of them doesn’t follow your lights direction…

Thats it man, other thn that, an overall cool image

I agree totally with the comment above, also I would consider the field of view of the camera you are using for the pyramid, it just looks that it has a lot of perspective effect on it, and yes it is too sharp for the blury plate you have, I like the big tree in the right foreground but the left fg elements look too flat and you have some kind of halo on the edge. looking forward to see the improvements
