Anatomy Thread of Wim

#1

Welcome to my anatomy thread.
I recently started with art classes : a 4 year course, of which the first 2 years will focus (almost) exclusively on drawing from plaster statues. After that it’ll be nude & life drawing for the remaining 2 years.
I’m planning to do lots of anatomy studies in this thread, maybe an occassional master copy and similar stuff to expand my knowledge of human (and animal) anatomy.
Critiques and suggestions are always welcome of course, and much appreciated. Let the journey begin

Wim

(I’ll start adding my work tomorrow, by the way)

Wim,

Welcome! I greatly look forward to seeing your work and watching your progress here - one of the coolest things about these threads of course is being able to look back through the pages and seeing how much an individual has improved over time - I invite you to take a look at others’ Sketchbooks, leave comments and constructive criticism, and you will receive the same in return.

Cheers,

-Rebeccak

Thanks for the welcome, Rebeccak. Yeah, I’ll try to comment on the other SB’s as often as I can.

I’m planning to make a watercolor out of the following drawing, but I kinda got carried away and added way too much detail  Watercolor is allowed in threads like this, right ?

Luckily the lines are a lot lighter on the paper, I increased the contrast in PS to make it easier to see.
Update coming soon...

Hi…Wim…

Sounds like a great course of study you are intering in to…clasical method of learning…
Can’t wait to see where it leads you…should be great progress…looking forward to seeing some of those cast studies…
Nice start on that drawing for the watercolor…don’t forget to make the nipple on viewers left
overlap the contour of the breast…will always be the case in a three quarter view…nipple will
protrude beyond the outter edge of the breast… …sorry,…just noticed that the shirt was overlapping the breast, which makes it a frontal view…a shadow there maybe…:scream:
Looking forward to seeing more of your work…
TAKE CARE
Glenn

Hey Wim

OFDW20 is on: something you cannot afford to let it pass by without participating I think!

I remember you were saying something in class about getting into drawing… right?

here’s your chance mate:

Open Figure Drawing Workshop - Mixed Masters - 020

No excuses anymore… we wanna see some work up!
If you want to improve you’ll have to open up your mind for critics

Personally, I think you are better than you think you are. You getting some work up here will prove me right
