Anatomy Thread of Thomasphoenix - 2D/3D
Hiā¦Sijuā¦

I like the sharpness in the side that is closest to the viewerā¦was wondering if you can make the far side softer now, and in shadow, so that it creates more depth. I think that as long as it has skin color, it falls into a painting catagory,ā¦and if it is a painting, then the princaples of depth perspective applyā¦created with atmosphere by making the far side softer, and in shadow.
JUST A THOUGHT⦠and JUST ONE WAY OF SEEING ITā¦
KEEP INSPIRINGā¦Sijuā¦![]()
TAKE CARE
Glenn
Great work, Siju⦠the Sybil is getting better by the day⦠You have a good thing going.!![]()
Hi Siju,

as tiring as it was on my slow internet connectionā¦i just went through this whole thread from page 1 to 20, the drawings, ur skills are incredibleā¦it always feels great to see quality work from indiaā¦i did find ShyamShriramās works sometime back and felt the sameā¦the thing is i am always enthused by artā¦specially anatomy since i am learning to be a modeller/riggerā¦and i share this interest in art lilke most of the ppl in hereā¦but i wish i also shared some of ur talents⦠i just wish u the very best and keep up the good workā¦
maybe sometime i will get an oppurtunity to work with youā¦
ā¦i was thinking of sending my reel once it is done to you at ccxā¦

Glenn ,Johann,
I am back, Will start posting by next week, I just got a Licence for MUDBOX and am planning some sculptures .
Siju
Thomasphoenix, great to hear that. Just yesterday I was going to post here asking where have you gone, but then there was a black-out (because of the strong wind) until now.
So itās awesome to see you back and I hope to see interesting and fascinating stuff from you.
By the way, are you still doing those Frazetta studies?
Did the base model for something else rest mudbox practically made me do it! I love this piece of software. This is a no ref Burne Hogarth Style torso , not much of real anatomy here!

Hey Siju
so this mudbox is a bit like Zbrush I guess⦠brushbased modeling
(well I hope Iām not offending any fans of Mudbox nor Zbrush here
)
Something Iām looking forward to try in a couple of years (when my wallet and basic skills allow it lol)
Itās good to see this man and I hope to see much more again soon (hungry as I am)!
Welcome back!
HEYā¦Sijuā¦:bounce:
:applause:
Looks like you have mastered that new softwareā¦maybe a little demo of what it is all about and capable of doing, that is different from the other softwares that you have usedā¦just a thought, from a know nothing about all of this new software kind of guyā¦but am still very curious to know type of personā¦

What do you meanā¦not so much of real anatomy hereā¦looks real to meā¦looks FANTASTICā¦Iām sure there is someone out there who fits that decription to a Tā¦BUT also know for sure it aināt me ā¦LOL
TAKE CARE MY FRIEND
Glenn
Hey Siju! its great to have you back!!
awesome start on mudbox! how about a demo/step by step⦠huh?
hi.its really great to see your work posted.i luv the mudbox version.i want to join ccx but cant come to south.is dere any possiblity of seeing ccx in north india.
cheers!!![]()
Johann Mudbox is very Natural for a Sculptor or Draughtsman! It has real perspective camera settings and even the highest level of detail can be sculpted straight on the model! The export routines are very simple also ! Zbrush is good ,ābutā this is More fun and easier for me!
Glenn ! he he Im learning to use it, its so good it brings one to his level of incompetency or
lack of reference images in my case almost immediately! Im able to translate almost 60-70%
of whats in my mind ,other modeling packages can do 30-40%.Its right up your Alley though I think you will be up and away in a day on mudbox. Its a very artist friendly and intutive workflow! natural for any artist even if he is not very software savvy!
Amarinder ,thanks ! by the way Im In faridabad rt now for some time !
Anand ,thanks for the kind words,Iāll do a step by step once I have fully explored Mudbox, rt now im working with two or three tools.
Will be in bangalore on 18th hope to see u then!

Hey Siju! Thats great!!! call me when you are in Bālore⦠will send my number by private message.
hey Thomasphoenix
Wow, awesome work
ā¦hmm⦠how about a 3/4 view, would be a great ref so i could practiice drawing the oblique and serratus muscles.
Mark
Hiā¦Syjuā¦
REALLY NICE interlacing of the tendons and muscles around those knee capsā¦really nice flow of formā¦GREAT JOB⦠![]()
I have been neglecting my Z BUSH progrm lately, while playing around with the drawings from my figure drawing classā¦but am thinking of combining some Z BRUSH with my class drawingsā¦might make an interesting comboā¦donāt think I have seen that done anywhere yet.
I tried it in one painting so far, just to capture the idea and thought behind it , so I wouldnāt forgetā¦
Iām thinking about getting that Mud Box softwareā¦waiting to see more of your work done using it before I decide thoughā¦GOT YOUā¦
TAKE CARE
Glenn
Anand will call u up once Iām there,
Mark, thanks, here is a three quarter! I havent worked on the back yet!
