Good to see your update, Siju  - in truth I haven’t had time to ponder your sculpt, but I’ll try to post some comments later on today.

awesome work !! very inspiring

Hi…Siju…

I like the sharpness in the side that is closest to the viewer…was wondering if you can make the far side softer now, and in shadow, so that it creates more depth. I think that as long as it has skin color, it falls into a painting catagory,…and if it is a painting, then the princaples of depth perspective apply…created with atmosphere by making the far side softer, and in shadow.
JUST A THOUGHT… and JUST ONE WAY OF SEEING IT…
KEEP INSPIRING…Siju…
TAKE CARE

Hi Siju,
heard your name quite a few times as the guy from south with great talents…but never had seen much of your work except a couple of sketches on cgtantra i think…
as tiring as it was on my slow internet connection…i just went through this whole thread from page 1 to 20, the drawings, ur skills are incredible…it always feels great to see quality work from india…i did find ShyamShriram’s works sometime back and felt the same…the thing is i am always enthused by art…specially anatomy since i am learning to be a modeller/rigger…and i share this interest in art lilke most of the ppl in here…but i wish i also shared some of ur talents… i just wish u the very best and keep up the good work…
maybe sometime i will get an oppurtunity to work with you… …i was thinking of sending my reel once it is done to you at ccx…

#306

Thomasphoenix, great to hear that. Just yesterday I was going to post here asking where have you gone, but then there was a black-out (because of the strong wind) until now.
So it’s awesome to see you back and I hope to see interesting and fascinating stuff from you.
By the way, are you still doing those Frazetta studies?

#310

Did the base model for something else rest mudbox practically made me do it! I love this piece of software. This is a no ref Burne Hogarth Style torso , not much of real anatomy here!

#311

Hey Siju

so this mudbox is a bit like Zbrush I guess… brushbased modeling
(well I hope I’m not offending any fans of Mudbox nor Zbrush here  )

Something I’m looking forward to try in a couple of years (when my wallet and basic skills allow it lol)

It’s good to see this man and I hope to see much more again soon (hungry as I am)!
Welcome back!

#312

HEY…Siju…:bounce:  :applause:

Looks like you have mastered that new software…maybe a little demo of what it is all about and capable of doing, that is different from the other softwares that you have used…just a thought, from a know nothing about all of this new software kind of guy…but am still very curious to know type of person…:scream:
What do you mean…not so much of real anatomy here…looks real to me…looks FANTASTIC…I’m sure there is someone out there who fits that decription to a T…BUT also know for sure it ain’t me …LOL :scream:
TAKE CARE MY FRIEND

Johann Mudbox is very Natural for a Sculptor or Draughtsman! It has real perspective camera settings and even the highest level of detail can be sculpted straight on the model! The export routines are very simple also ! Zbrush is good ,ā€œbutā€ this is More fun and easier for me!

Glenn ! he he Im learning to use it, its so good it brings one to his level of incompetency or
lack of reference images in my case almost immediately! Im able to translate almost 60-70%
of whats in my mind ,other modeling packages can do 30-40%.Its right up your Alley though I think you will be up and away in a day on mudbox. Its a very artist friendly and intutive workflow! natural for any artist even if he is not very software savvy!

Amarinder ,thanks ! by the way Im In faridabad rt now for some time !

Anand ,thanks for the kind words,I’ll do a step by step once I have fully explored Mudbox, rt now im working with two or three tools.
Will be in bangalore on 18th hope to see u then!

#316

#317

hey Thomasphoenix

Wow, awesome work …hmm… how about a 3/4 view, would be a great ref so i could practiice drawing the oblique and serratus muscles.

Mark

#318

Hi…Syju…

REALLY NICE interlacing of the tendons and muscles around those knee caps…really nice flow of form…GREAT JOB…
I have been neglecting my Z BUSH progrm lately, while playing around with the drawings from my figure drawing class…but am thinking of combining some Z BRUSH with my class drawings…might make an interesting combo…don’t think I have seen that done anywhere yet.
I tried it in one painting so far, just to capture the idea and thought behind it , so I wouldn’t forget…
I’m thinking about getting that Mud Box software…waiting to see more of your work done using it before I decide though…GOT YOU…:scream:
TAKE CARE
