Hey razz!
AWESOME work man! The technique used for the sp is so…ummm…don’t have a proper word…!
Its refreshingly different…dying to see more such stuff :bounce:

Voraz, no need to be sorry. And yes, his sps did inspire me a lot

Thomas, school’s ok I guess. Only a week has passed, so hard say how well it is, it’s as usual. I had an idea for my todays sp but couldn’t complete it. I will try again tomorrow, hopefuly it’ll work then. By the way, thanks for asking me to do these sps, I think I wouldn’t have started doing them if it wasn’t you

Rdsarna, thanks! I’ll try, I’ll try

Sooo, todays SP. After five unsuccesfull tries at painting it I leave you with only the sketch. I will try and paint it again tomorrow and, of course, post it together with tomorrows SP. That means two SPs tomorrow. Erm…hopefully

#743

Hey razz,
… for serious: I was thinking about 30minutes now what to say… so just thanks and no problem… I really hoped you would join me because I know it would be a lot more fun with you doing this SP’s  So we should keep up pushing

I am looking forward to your two SPs today ^^
Thomas

#744

Thomas, thanks mate! It’s fun and very educative to do these sps.

I must apologise, because no two SPs today, just another sketch. I got back home in the evening and painted this sketch for somewhere between 1 and 2 hours, but unsuccesfully. I think I tend to rush too much, trying to make it look good in 5 minutes without much of thinking of what I’m doing. So that leaves me with two sketches which have to be painted and another self-portrait for Sunday. Great.

#745

Hey razz,
I see you are still awake? ^^
I finished my self-potrait for today NOW. It is done with ink and still wet, so I think I’ll post it tomorrow  You should attempt on doing this SP at night … I never had this great feeling of myself at an self-potrait before … so I think today’s SP is the one which is the most myself, at the moment

I am really looking forward to your 3 SP’s  By the way, I NEVER made it to make more than one sp a day … I don’t know why but it seems like my motivation is completely gone after the first … or my concentration or whatever.
An idea could be to do the sketch with pencil, scan the sketch and then work digital for the colors. But I do not know if you sketch faster traditional? This only makes sense when you are quicker doing the sketch traditional.

I like the sketchs of this sp’s and I think they will become very nice  Maybe just a thought, you can also play with the background. Android did this also from time to time  Very nice to hear you have fun at doing this SPs  So my idea was not complete bullshit ^^

By the way, today my father gave me the key for a new apartment, so I am now moving one level higher in our house. I have the whole apartment just for me and my art. I think this will be one of the best places to learn for me the next time

So let’s keep it going

#746

Thomas, thanks! Appreciate you taking your time to c&c my work. I did my first sp, the shouting one the way you just said. Drew the sketch traditionally and painted on digitally. I am faster with traditional drawing tools, but painting is another thing, which is faster when done digitally.
No, your idea wasn’t bullshit at all  It’s fun doing these, though I didn’t find time to paint anything else. So once I reach 7 SPs I won’t be making one each day.
Congratulations on your new place. Who wouldn’t love to have a place where one can paint all day without interruptions, hehe. I expect to see lots of new stuff from you!

Now the SPs, I have all three! I also have a terrible pain in my throat, but it now got less terrible since yesterday. Still feeling shitty but I’ll live  At first I thought it would keep me from doing these SPs but, fortunately it didn’t. Lots of tea and some medicine helped.

#747

Hey razz,
whats the count now? I think we have done 5 ? Think I am going to keep it up after doing 7 … not doing 1000 but more … searching for myself a little bit more… really helping … and I think I am going to have enough time in my new apartment to still do other stuff

Very nice to see you made it to draw all 3 SPs … I like the blue one  Very nice colors, and the contrast at the eye is very nice set. Also the more perfection in the eye

The pencil potrait looks very free… very nice line work

On this black one, I think it would have been nice to see a little bit more of the body or to have your head cut of  But very nice painting, very dark… but nice

So let’s keep it up to the last two
Thomas

#748

Thomas, thanks again mate! Yeah, it was 5 yesterday, now it’s 6 and after the 7th one I will get back to my more regular stuff and do SPs only from time to time. Hey, why do you want to cut my head off? Anyway, I never liked horror that is shown through bloodbaths, though different people have different things that scare them. You saw the movie “Exorcism of Emily Rose”? That was the inspiration for that dark SP. But as I remember you don’t like horror movies so I doubt that you’ve seen it even though that movie isn’t scary, but a pleasure to watch, for me at least

Todays SP. Pencil at first to be able to correct, after that black pen, then scanned and Zhu’s watercolor brush on top.

#749

sup razz, that latest ‘watercolor’ portrait is awesome! how long are you going to doe those SP’s? 1000 like android?

#750

Eeheheh man, I scrolled this page from botton to top and at first instance I though it was a Tom Cruise’s portrait
The blue-azure one especially reminds him !

Goooooooddd work !

#751

Cyanid, thanks. Ah, no, I won’t go that far. Actually I’m stopping now. I only did a SP a day for a week. So that makes 7, not 1000. Still, it was nice to try out at least a few different styles. I think in a few of those 7 I went for a more artistic approach, like in that “watercolor” one, which is great just to do for fun from time to time.

Serena, lol, thanks I guess  Is that a plus?

Sooo, the 7th self-portrait and it’s the 8th day. My bad.

I must say again that I am sorry for being very quiet at other threads here. It’s just because of the lack of time…

#752

Razz,

thanks mate!
You may be one of the youngest in age on these forums, but you are an example to all of us!
Keep rocking this place!

#753

Hey Razz! How’re you doing buddy?.. awesome SPs!!.. hahaha… Tom Cruise!.. yeah!

#754

Hey razz,
I know what you are talking of… at the moment I also have NO TIME … I had to move one level higher here in the house into my new appartment, now I have to clean the rooms because my father’s birthday is today and tomorrow he is making a big party … I am soooo tired. Before I forget: I am back into digital paintings! I had no mirror up here and had to use some of my scanned sp’s as reference

No I have not watched Emily Rose ... but I know the story behind it, it happened somewhere here in germany... there was a special in TV over exorcism and this case was the main theme. You are right I don't like horror movies but maybe I am going to watch it one day ... who knows ;)

I never wanted to cut your head off, but I thought it would fit to this picture ;)

This punk like sp is very funny... just place a little bit more green in the image and you could be an drunken orc or oger or such thing ;)

On this last piece you a little older I think ^^ But very nice style ... this shading is working very nice woth your lins ... great work :)

So at last ... thanks for joining me for one week ... even if you needed an 8 day week ;) It was very nice to see all your 7 SP's ... maybe one time we are going to do something similar again? Like the seven deadly sins, who knows? :D Have you read the idea of my flying sketchbook in my thread? Would this be interresting for you to join ? I would really like to get a sketchbook with one original work of yours, so of course you would get one of mine, too :D

As you know, I am going to keep on the daily sp's I thought I should try much more like Android and do one SP every day digital ... what you think of it? Though my last attempt on digital were very bad ... I still have to find my own way of painting ... so doing this SPs helps to find it, I hope :)

I hope you are going to check this SPs from time to time ... ;)

(I hope I did not forget to write anything I wanted to write ^^)

Keep it going!
Thomas

Sheesh you’re so productive I can never keep up with your sketchbook! Every time I flatter myself - I’ve seen the latest one - I enter the thread and darn there’s new stuff I’ve missed… Exciting! I really like even the rough quick stuff you’re doing! Keep it up and keep embarassing some godawefull procrastinators like yours truly :scream:

#756

Hey Trunks,

Really enjoying your last portraits. In my opppinion the last is one of your best: clean lines, well defined volumes and the proportions are Ok. Just seeing at that piece I think I can learn a lot… thanks for that mate.

#757

very very nice portraits!! i like the defined angles in the face, really shows you understand what your drawing. i like your contrast in colors as well in the painted portraits, esp. the blue one.

#758

Johan, thanks mate! Your words mean a lot to me.

Anand, hey! Thanks. Doing fine I guess. Tom Cruise…meh…If it really is this way it’s me who looks like him, it’s him who looks like me

Thomas, wow, thanks for the thorough comment. I answered the questions you asked here at your thread  I’ll be watching your thread, that’s for sure! So just show me your creations.

Magdalena, thanks! And to me it seems I’m not that productive, hehe. Especialy when doing imaginational work. Takes some time until I have something to show. Going for better quality instead of bigger quantity. Well, glad you find it exciting when you come here.

Agnaldo, well thanks but Trunks’ thread is here  Good to know you learn stuff from my work.

Auria, thanks!

I finished the portrait of my brother. Going back to gestures now.

#759

Hey razz,
for sure I’ll show you creations … I hope they’ll come more and more now so now I have more time  Yesterday I made my figure drawings from a fat women … wow that was strange… you can forget everything you have learned about anatomy … so one tip of myself… from time to time try to study fat people

I like this potrait of your brother … very nice work … I like the orange in the background a lot … gives the image more variation of color  I am not sure if I like or dislike the red nose … no idea why but for me it looks very strange and funny … so you must know … working on the nose always makes a potrait funny … like a clown

I am going to start organizing the sketchbook group soon … I am finished with all work on my apartment now

Keep it up!
Thomas

Thank you Thomas. My brother asked about the nose too, why is it red. I guess it just gives the overlall creepy look something less creepy? Haha, yeah. Well, it was a fun experience doing it, because I rarely go to a more finished look.

Little update. The environments are refed, hands are mostly from life, my own left hand in the mirror, a few are refed and the 3d sculpt is also refed. I think I have posted an earlier version of it some time ago.
The bad thing is that my right hand hurts. Nothing really serious, in about two weeks it will be allright, but now it sucks really.
