Anatomy Thread of razz - 2D/3D

Glenn, thank you. Appreciate all your suggestions. Will keep them in my head until I do some more that kind of studies. Thanks again!

Thomas, thank you. It’s fun doing these fast very undetailed studies. You know, I think it is better to do 20 one hour studies than one 20 hours study  Do start doing stuff digitaly man, maybe you’ve forgoten how much fun it is?!!

Min, nah, that’s a photo I’ve taken, not a study. Loved the fog. I’m no way near that good to be making studies like that.

This one’s from imaginationa. Tried to create something with what I’ve learned from those two studies. Fitted the topic of DSF, so I’ll try and start to participate there from now on.

#702

great studies razz! really like the lighting in the fog ones!:bounce:

#703

Oh such beautiful quickiess ! I love fog and its ability to create a magic atmosphere. In the everything can take place !

#704

Hi razz,
this last piece is very nice  I think the red light could get more to the right and left ? It just looks as if there is something between this two trees ?

Maybe I really forgot how much fun drawing digital is … but at the moment I am feeling fine with my traditional stuff, there is so much I can still learn to get my figure drawings better … when I think I have a good technique to get this figures down in my figure drawing class I might switch back more to digital

Thanks Magdalena! Kudos goes to the refs, hehe. They were really very nice looking. It doesn’t take much time to do a little study like that so it’s extremely fun. It’s all about getting the image to read.

Thank you Serena!Oh, I love fog too, a LOT! I love atmospheric perspective too

Thomas, thank you! Ah, there a lots of flaws in that image, but I’m not too worried about that, because I didn’t spend a lot of time on it. I don’t like it really, but it’s still a step in getting better at creating stuff from imagination, so that’s a plus.
Just so you know, I’ll be waiting for some digitally made stuff from you!

A speedie I’ve done for the DSG topic “Dream World”. Not very dreamy, but I just seem to like nature.

This is how it looked after 45mins of painting

And like this after 1h50min

Just this for now. I’ll post more stuff tomorrow. I’ve done some anatomy studies of feet and hand but still have to finish one of the hand. Also more gestures to come.
Until then people!

Hey razz,
first of all here is a promise: I’ll let you know when I return to digital stuff  . I am planing to buy myself a new tablet! I tried to draw a little overpaint for a friend and I remembered why I stopped doing digital stuff … my tablet is just not exact… I need a better one … this is no tablet for working with it … I just need some money … LOL  But I’ll have the chance to hopefully sell some of my works, my art school is giving me a platform… so I hope I can get some money and buy myself a new tablet

I already wanted to comment on your last piece … but … well it’s great and I haven’t seen what you wrote under this piece… so I am waiting for the update tomorrow

Keep it going
Thomas

#707

Hey Thomas, thanks! Ha, I thought of buying a new tablet too, but then I thought again that I’m not cool enough for a new one. Selling your work you say? I’m thinking of doing that myself, though I need to create something worth selling first, lol. Ah, ok, someday I will.

So, today is still tomorrow, right? Here’s the promised update.
Anatomy studies are after Michael M. Hensley (muscle ones) and from an anatomy book (bones). Gestures are imaginational. If I don’t rush it turns out better :scream:

#708

He nice study Razz , it cool to see good young people , Keep it up .

#709

Hey Razz, great colour studies! You definitly get a sense of depth with those landscapes.

Gestures are nice, altough if they are from imagination why not try some more extreme poses? Nice anatomy studies. Hey how is your bargue drawing coming along? You haven’t posted your progress in a while. Keep up the good work.

#710

Hey razz,
you are not cool enough? Just let’s take a look at your thread … oh there are 4 stars … I’ll give you 5 maybe then there are 5 ? So what you want? Your stuff is great

This last 3 pages are great ! I like the way you draw this figures  Also this studies are looking like they could be in an anatomy book  Very well done!

I have a little less time today so…
Keep it up!
Thomas

#711

razz really nice work, I espicially love your digital painterly touch, you use photoshop? what are your settings when you work, if you don’t mind.

also great dedication, another question…

are you able to take figure drawing classes at your age?

Ev

#712

Nice studies Razz
Do you oblige yourself to know all the tendon names etc?
Just curious to what extend your perfectionism reaches

The gestures… I’m also working on those but at a far more beginners stage. I think they are fun to do though.

#713

Yo razz! you are soo dedicated! can I call u a freak? haha. gestures looking good! watch the head size tho, getting a little small… and also try and establish a solid rib cage form and pelvis… that really helps in showing the weight… awsome studies, but then again u already knew that right? cheers dude!

#714

Beautiful studies man !

Bravo !

#715

hey razz-man…! heh he

great studies man. looking really good. don’t know what else to say.

Vimmy, thanks! Speaking of good youn people, your pieces amazed me.

Joel, thank you! Ah, you see, I’m still not that good at simple poses, so I don’t want to make it too hard on myself by doing extreme poses. I will come to those, just a tad later. My Bargue’s are just the same as on the last update. 3d work took a lot of my time, so I tried to spend it more on my imaginational drawings. I sure want to finish them, but there’s also numerous stuff I want to do also, like more anatomy studies, a 3d character, environmental stuff etc. etc. There’s just not enough time for everything, there never was.

Thomas, thanks! Thanks for the stars  What I want is to get better. Wouldn’t it be cool if my imaginational stuff looked like my studies? Yes it would. See, now it’s not cool. No new tablet for me, lol.

SpankTheMonk, thank you! I use Painter mostly with custom made brushes. I don’t if age would be a problem for me to take figure drawing problems, but what the problem is that there are none in my lame city.

Johan, thanks! Well, tendons are parts of muscles and I do want to know those, so yes, I am memorising them. Of course many say that we’re not doctors but knowing them helps me. There aren’t so many if you don’t get into every groove of the bone. I still have lots to memorise, in the legs especialy, that’s the part I’ve studied least.

Min, thanks! The crits will come useful, though I’ve done another page of little headed gestures before reading this, damn it! I’ll watch the proportions more from now on. Glad you like the studies, they took some time.

Serena, thank you! Good to see you in here.

Rasmus, thanks! Haven’t seen you for quite some time, where have you been? I hope you weren’t lasy all that time and did your homework, haha. What you can always say is some critique, always welcome.

Now some crap.
1-2. Stupid imaginational gestures.
3. Crapy environment from imagination. The little people there look bad because the original image is very small, so I didn’t manage to make a believable figure with four pixels.
4. A try at a character. I picked one of Min’s (Bumskee, but you had to know that!!) characters and tried putting it in a different pose. So it’s imaginational and refed also. I hope he doesn’t mind me doing that and that he won’t break my fingers. After this one I saw how much my linework sucks.
5. Linework study from a photo ref. I’m in serious need to study legs much much more.

Hey razz,
first of all, great work
Ok so you are right, your stuff is not cool so it makes sense… no new tablet for you  I’ll give ysou one star :stuck_out_tongue: But you work on it and that’s good
I think you should take this pose stuff from time to time and decide for one pose and draw this one in bigger size … but not like you do normally … try to do something different with it … not the “I’ll do a razz style rendered piece” but try to do something new just play with it. Maybe try to do a figure out of some color splashed on the paper ? I really would like to see some crazy stuff from time to time… but don’t know maybe you just don’t like it ^^ but it would be great !

Keep it up !
Thomas

The referenced man really works ! Especially lines, that are very very very fluid !

#719

Thomas, haha, thanks. Never though I that I had a style of my own. I’ll try a speedpaint if you ask so. I do have a problem of showing every detail, trying to put it exactly where it needs to be, which makes my stuff look stiff. So a very good suggestion from you on that crazy stuff  Hey, do you by any chance have Andres Jones’ SPs saved to you hard drive? I would sure like to take a look at them all bigger, but going through the threads would take too much time, which I cannot afford with the school starting tomorrow.

Serena, thanks. Well, the hand don’t fit in, they don’t look like the rest of the body. And it actualy has legs, which I erased in photoshop because the looked too ugly. I need more studies of these bodyparts.

This is a study after Andrew Jones. Just wanted to explore a new style, a pretty crazy one. And the scanner took some of it, looks better in real.

I would’ve had much more to show, but my tries at drawing my brother were unsuccesful and they took a lot of time. I want to paint him a portrait as a birthday present, but can’t get the likeness. I’ll try some more.

#720

Man I do gestures from ref and they don’t even look half as good as yours :stuck_out_tongue:
How do you come up with the poses? I must be the person with the least imagination in all of Europe argh!

N E Way
Your brother looks like a cool guy (I hope he is as cool as he looks… my brother looks cool but is really a @#&!$ )
