Lovely studies, guagua, especially the fist at the top left. Peoples’ sketches you would really like are those of DoctorBone and Thomasphoenix, whose work is linked here.

Really enjoying seeing your work, your digital work looks exactly like pen studies!

Cheers,

Looks very good. I ike that kind of drawings. I have never realy tried, but I think that drawing animals must be very difficult. Your works might inspire me to try and draw some. But ah, first, the human figure =] Show me more!!

The upper Hogarth studies and the lower horse / deer / dog / bear studies are really strong! Great stuff, looking forward to seeing more.

finally i forced myself to get into the painting, still can not get well with the painter’s oil brushes,my oil painting looks really sucks,so i use the photoshop instead and paint by my own feel of colors, and combine with the layers technique.
at 1st,it is really a tough process, but as i paint more, start get a little bit comfort and confidence in painting.many thanks to Glenn and RebeccaK,i dont think i could make progress so quickly without your encouragement and suggestion:). i think its a nice start in my way of painting, cheers!

You have also learned ZBrush on ur own???

#34

Hello Guagua

Think your Conan came out fantastic! Thought it would make a great painting with color so I played with it for about 15 minutes in Painter 9.
Just spotlighted, adjusted contrast and blended colors with soft blending brush.

Hope you don’t mind me posting this on your thread. Just trying to return the favor that you did for me with Zbrush

Here is a link to the method I use for spotlighting with color etc:

(post #198) A short tutorial I did about painting for Siju…If you have any questions on this technique feel free to ask me. And I will be more than happy to answer.

[left]Guagua, amazing work! :applause: I particularly like the top study ~ I hope you finish it! The bottom study is looking great too, I would only say that the abs need more refining.

Great stuff, keep up the amazing work!

HI…Guagua…

GREAT STUDIES…glad you are finding a use for that LIGHTING and COLOR TECHNIQUE…

PAINTER # 9…IN EFFECTS

APPLY SURFACE TEXTURE section…In that color chart with all the little squres of different colors…
if you go to bottom row,

third squre in…left side… a nice green olive color…pick a medium to light shade of that color
apply to your painting

second squre in…left side…same row…nice golden olive color…has yellow in it…pick a light shade of that color…apply to your painting
and put on top of the first color

second row from bottom…left side…second box in…a nice brown…has orange in that brown…apply to your painting
put that color on top of the other two colors

TONAL CONTROL section
go to ajust color…slide middle bar…SATURATION… all the way to right and you will find… GOLD…:bounce: :scream:

TONAL CONTROL section…Play with the BRIGHTNESS and CONTRAST

SURFACE CONTROL section…APPLY LIGHTING
Hit that gold with different colored spot lights, and MAGIC will happen … ENJOY…

That is the same method and colors that I used to get the golden color on the last set of Z BRUSH figures on my anatomy thread…posted yesterday…
