Anatomy Thread of Graworks

#1

Hello everyone.

Here are some anatomy drawings and portraits done by me for mainly learning purposes.
The material is generally graphite pencil on paper, I’ll mention if otherwise.

Later I plan also to post some quick sketches and copies of old masters which I also perform.

Critique and other kinds of response appreciated

Welcome! Strong drawings here. Looking forward to more!

Strong is the right word. Very clear planes, they nearly look like 3D-models. I don’t have any criticism :l

Thank you very much for kind replies. The skulls above are my last anatomy works, done about 2 weeks ago.

Here some more anatomy drawings.

Two Houdon (écorché) heads (I tried somehow different styles):

David lips and part of nose:

Houdon écorché figure (archer):

Last two pictures are rather old, I draw them about 6 years ago. The figure has broken leg and child-size hands, but I still like it

Experience of master copy…

Copy of Rubens (Nicolas Rubens Wearing a Coral Necklace, 1619) drawing:

Paper toned with tea, red, black, and white chalk.

I am not satisfied with this copy at all, will repeat it later.

Girl sketch made with soft material:

Again, my main goal was to provide correct face features construction and placement, it is more study than creative work, therefore posted here.

Some quick sketches.
Made outdoors, gel pen on paper.
About 0.5 - 1 minutes each.

More quick sketches:

Nice sb start!

I’d suggest to use bistre instead of tea to make washes, because tea is a lot less lightfast.

Love the pen quickies!
The last one has something “Rembrandt-ish”

#11

good sketching, I like the life part
