Anatomy Thread of DarkKnightBG

#1

Hello all. I have been tracking these pages for a year or so now and I figure I might as well start my own. I will be entering the open figure drawing workshop #21 - “Angels and Demons”. I will be attempting to replicate Rubens’s Two Satyrs through a digital painting. I am truly excited to be a part of this great community here. Will post WIP very soon!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys and gals!

Here is my first post over from the OFDW #21. I wasn’t sure if I should post WIP in my Anatomy Thread or only finished pieces.

Here is my preliminary drawing. I still see a lot of things that need fixing. Getting the exact expression of the front-facing Satyr is turning out to be a challenge for me. There are so many subtle shapes that compose that maniachal expression…

Anyway, hope to begin painting in the next day or so.

Hi, great start on your OFDW piece

Looking forward to see it develop

Have you been drawing since long? are you attending an art school maybe?
Just curious

Anand and Johan - thanks for the kind words. I will try to post another update tonight.

Johan - I have been drawing for a long time but I do not go to an art school, and I really miss drawing. It’s one reason I entered the workshop. Anyway, I’m finishing up my undergrad currently (double major in Film and Computer Science) and I do plan on going to art school eventually - after working for a few years. I looked at your portfolio and I think your work is quite impressive! Keep it up, man!
