Hi depleteD!
Nice torsos! Your proportions are good…It might take a bit more study to get those muscles in the right places, though… Are you following any anatomy book? I like your female nude studies too… keep going!

Hi…Andrew…

Doing those master copies looks like it is really paying off for you…big time:thumbsup:
That one in frame # 79…WOW…Now that’s what it’s all about…:applause:
In that one, you lost the outline, and replaced it with air // atmosphere…creates a whole different, and better effect…lets the painting BREATH…:bounce:
Letting the background unite with the figure, has a way of creating a ONENESS in the piece. Edges that disapear also let the viewers imagination roam and explore the unseen…forces or allows them to partake in, and complete the journy AROUND the figure.
Really looking forward to seeing more like that one from you…FANTASTIC job there…
TAKE CARE
Glenn

anandpg-Hey man thanks for the comments. Well I dont have an anatomy book. I’m thinking of getting the statue from that cg learning place. That big one with the poster. Then labeling all the muscles every drawing. I do have the goal of memorizing all the msucles and bones.

SpiritDreamer-hey spirit, thanks man, thats something that really caught my eye about that painting. How the foreground and main subject matter melted out of the background. I was like wtf? So once i start doing my own pieces I’m gonna try takeing that technique and applying it to my own. Thanks again.

Cris-Palomino- Thanks glad you had a good time. I really want to get this up to like a billion pages. I have done over 200 studies this year(I belive this is 201  ). My goal is to get to 365. But I’m a bit behind scehdual. I do have a ton of studys on paper I do at works figure studys. So who knows. Maybe I’ll make it.

And heres a quickie.

I love Rubens.
So much so…
I make him roll in his grave.

#87

I share your love for Rubens’ work
and i think he would be very pleased to see that you, among so many of us, see him as one of the most important examples on how to create artwork that lives…

always a pleasure to drop by your thread [b]depleteD

depleteD,

Some real progress here, and I actually like that last piece a lot - the black lines are adding an ink like line quality and that’s a nice contrast to the rest of the shading. I do think you’re using a bit too much white and would suggest limiting it’s use to only areas that are of most prominence. Great to see your diligence, and I look forward to seeing more.

Yo rebecca!

Thanks alot. Its really nice to hear you are noticeing improvement. I’m never gonna stop practising. Ever
