Opportunities include expansions to the current popular first person multiplayer game as well as an all-new next generation Unreal 3.0 version of America’s Army. The America’s Army Public Applications Team, located in Emeryville, CA, is just minutes from Berkeley, San Francisco and San Jose.  [b]Information Technologist:[/b]

 The America’s Army Development Team is seeking a highly organized individual with a strong professional background in LAN administration and server/workstation configuration. The ideal candidate has extensive prior experience in IT support and professional-grade security solutions within a game development environment. Strong communication, problem solving and time management skills are a must. 

Job Duties:

[ul]
[li]Coordinate with external vendors to ensure software licenses are consist and hardware remains bleeding-edge.
[/li][li]Provide hands-on support to LAN servers and developer workstations for a medium-sized development team.
[/li][li]Develop IT policies and enact processes in conjunction with Team Leads.
[/li][li]Monitor network security and ensure code/content assets are protected, backed-up and secure.
[/li][li]Contribute to design and deployment of server performance and data aggregation tools in support of QA and software development processes.
[/li][li]Maintain asset inventory records and conduct periodic inspections of developer workstations to ensure appropriate software licensing, timely Windows updates and adherence to security policies.
[/li][li]Write and maintain IT policy and procedure documentation.
[/li][li]Administer equipment ordering, inventory, and disposal procedures in accordance with Army/Gov’t requirements and regulations.
[/li][li]Assist QA in maintaining both a test and configuration lab (~20 game machines).
[/li][li]Monitor electrical, HVAC, and other critical support systems and follow troubleshooting/escalation procedures accordingly.
[/li][/ul]Qualifications:

[ul]
[li]Minimum of 3 years of experience administering Windows operating system (servers and clients).
[/li][li]BS or above in Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent.
[/li][li]Preferred MCSE certified.
[/li][li]Solid understanding of remote access and remote management.
[/li][li]Thorough knowledge of Windows operating systems, services, and registries.
[/li][li]Extensive knowledge of Windows Active Directory and Exchange 2000/2003 servers.
[/li][li]Ability to install and configure server and workstation hardware in a datacenter/rackmount environment.
[/li][li]Good understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and ability to configure mail routing protocols, AD replication, IP, VPN/Firewall.
[/li][li]Solid networking skills (e.g. routers, hubs, switches, firewalls, wireless)
[/li][li]Familiarity with DBMS systems (ie. SQLServer) and Source Control systems is a plus (i.e. Perforce).
[/li][li]Experience with Cisco routers and switches (router configuration, IOS, routing protocols) is a plus. CCNA CCNP is desirable.
