Hello guys, I’m about to get a new laptop (DELL Precision M6600) for work and was wondering if anyone around here has actually ever used maya or any other 3d app on an AMD FirePro M8900. I’ve made my research but most testings are a bit old, and I’m not sure how this would perform with maya’s viewport 2.0. Autodesk states that in maya 2013 VP2.0 has been tested and approved but I’d love to hear some user feedback on it.
Just a bit of background, I lean on the rendering and comping side of CG, so outstanding GPU performance might not be specifically necessary. Haven’t chimed in GPU rendering either, so I just need it to flow smoothly in moderately maya scenes. I might get into painting textures though.
Long time nvidia user here, have plenty of doubts about making the jump!
