Hi to all
Did a first try of a part of the spacestation nothing much yet just some rough boxes
but just to keep you posted

Ok, i think i have the V-twin finished.
Here is a render:

Again, some selective detailing. But as always, it needs a good texture and material job.
The_Wicked_Caveman:
Good stuff, looking forward to seeing the rest.It looks like it’s going to come out great.
DogmaD:
NICE ! when are we going to see some textures on the V-TWIN do you plan to give it the same color as the concept ? The Ceph light fighter is killer too.
E5 :
They are making your work too easy for you man.
You won’t have anything to touch up on the poster
Mark,
Thanks, there are still some small things i need to do on the model, but nothing major. Its hard to capture it in a screenshot. It looks so much more interesting when rotating or moving.
Boy1da
Hmmm, yeah, texturing.
Not one of my favorite things to do. I don’t know yet what the colour schemes will be on these ships. I have some colour schemes around here somewhere that were approved for the UTAF ships, i just need to find them.
Anyway, a small change of plans. I think it is time to model something organic for the project. So the next thing i will model is the girl soldier i concepted a while ago. The reason for this is that we can make some person involved posters. Mark, if you remember the first shots of the trailer, where the ceph come in to fight. That would be possible now if we have some characters, so i am going to start on some character modelling.
I also hope i can set somewhat of a standard for the project in that area. Lets just hope the standard is high.
Thanx for dropping by, I still have plenty to do…
I would love to see a rotation of the V-twin but I know its hard because of the file size. You know I can help a bit with the texturing…I think I could use the practice. Cool about the character modelling looking forward to seeing the results.
Hey have you seen the new Battlestar Galactia I really loved the way they did all the space sceens… I really liked the realizm…we should aim that high. But then again we are that high in my book.
:bounce:
Omg, very cool Mark!!
I love it, haha, this really sets the tone for the environment where our scene will take place.
I haven’t had time yet to work on the female soldier. To much schoolwork i am already a week behind on my deadline, which is not a good thing. Bah, i wish i had this report finished so i can do some modelling.
Damn nice image you made there hehe
I’ll put those extra cuts in it today
looks really cool hehe
here is another progress wip kinda thing from the spacestation started to add some more detail and stuff added the solar system to just for a try very low poly right now

Looking good Jozef, you are making nice progress. So, are you planning to first create a rough setup of the entire spacestation? Because that would be a pretty good idea, we can then see how it works in 3D and if we need to modify certain areas. Then, in a later stage we can start adding details to it.
sure I can make a complete version of the spacestation first just with simple boxes etc to give a general Idea it will be a low very low poly version then and I’ll start adding detail afterwards when you guys have agreed with the general look.
think you re right it should be a better way to work like that
well I’m back to work then and I’ll try to give you another update later today

I have started working on the female battle suit about an hour ago, and progress has been pretty good. I am currently working on the chest armor, and will first create the “hard” armor parts and after that continue with the softer parts of the armor, which will be something close to cloth ( the horror, oh, the horror!!! ). Cloth modelling is hard, haha.
Looks like a hard work virus has hit this thread !
@ DogmaD: What program did you use to model the V-Twin.
Is it a sud-D/mesh smooth model ?
i forgot to post these on this one…quick update
@everyone, you guys rock! it’s lookin so good…

and yes, i see the cloning on this one, will fix, working on drawing in the cracks on the rim…tell me that doesn’t consume time…

Boy1da: I am using Max, with meshsmoothing. And sometimes splines with the surface tool, for certain smooth shapes.
Monday: That is starting to come together.
My only crit is to put some orange in there.
@victor, you don’t like the exploded creamsicle look?
at one point i was going to name it IKK xm-13( i Killed Kenny, if you don’t get to see the show or movie ‘southpark’ that’s just not going to be funny) the color is going to be updated…
anyone else? this is still a democratic planet formation, although the further it goes, the less there is to change…
hint-yes there will be glowing magma, yes there will be smoke, yes there will be a very thin dusty atmosphere, yes there will be a ring of orbital rocks and ice…
@Victor, I am so glad you liked it. I was inspired to do it after watching Battlestar
@Monday, The planet is looking cool I am looking forward to seeing glowing magma…you have everything under control ![]()
@caveman, Station is looking cool…when the basic model is done I can get stuck into concepted more detail on what the team wants to see on it…exciting!!!
