@jozef, wow, does it involve a monkey and a group of international criminals? sorry,(that would be cool though-when we make the ‘making of AEGIS:2375’ documentary we can have you tell the story-if there aren’t international criminals or atleast a monkey, you’ll have to work in a car chase or something)

seriously though, i run a lot of applications, and once in a while i scrub my harddrives, and it keeps the performance speed and stability at it’s best…

@victor, don’t worry, the main rim of the crater will look alot different on the final. what do you think of VUE5 for doing landscapes, does it work nicely with 3DS max? i seem to be the planet/landscape person, so i was thinking about picking that up. i could make that planet you created with the huge column things look pretty good(i think) i haven’t played around too much with the trial version yet…wondering if anyone else had some experience…

Hi to all. I don’t know if it is the right place to post my wip but if it isn’t just let me know hehe.

after a couple of days work here is the first wip of the hull buster. I didn’t put the torpedos in it yet still working on it. I think I restarted the wip 3 to 4 times just to get a better look (kinda new to spaceship modelling) so just let the comments and critics come so I can make the ship look the best as possible
anyways here is the pic and a special thanks to mark for the concept hehe made the modelling way easier

Looking good Jozef!

As for critique. I would make the wings a bit shorter and the total model longer. Give the nose more length so you get the idea there is a big roaring engine under there :slight_smile:

it’s looking good! are you going to bevel the edges of the wings? the rest of the edges are beveled, but those aren’t, kinda makes them look slightly different?
but overall that’s great work!

Hi guys!

Jozef, the progress is nice.:thumbsup: Make sure that the ship will be about 3 times as long as it is wide in the end version. It should look like a fast hunter, but with a low manouvrability. a long and thin shape helps creating this image. Can you place the bullnose behind it, so we can see if the two will fit together? I am wondering how the shapes will merge together. :slight_smile:

Mark, yeah, i like it. Lets make it two pages. And some kind of big finale image on the right page, crossing over on the left one a bit. :slight_smile:

beveled up the wings a bit and made a side view I think it should be large enough now don’t you think? for the bullnose I was wondering how to put it in. wat part should stick out stuff like that. If somebody could give me a hand on that

Mark, could you figure out a cool way to lock the bullnose into the hunter?

I can’t work on Aegis this week, because i am at my girlfriends house. So i am using my laptop and i don’t have any usable software here…Hmmm…maybe i should start writing vertices in notepad. :twisted:

Anyway, Jozef, maybe you can experiment with the top wings a little bit. Something about it is buging me, but i can’t put my finger on it. Somehow it is not integrating well yet with the shape…Maybe put it on a slight angle upwards or downwards? That will probably work a bit better.

The length is good now. :thumbsup:

Don’t think it is going to be the only nose to bleed hehe it going to be one bloody mess in the end :wink:

bended the wings, added the last detail waiting for some ideas to put the bullnose into it if there is anything else to model on this just let me know if it is good I’ll leave it this way and will be waiting for my next model :).
If things arent right at all just let me know I still have different versions of it so going back shouldn’t be a problem

Wicked Caravan : I have attached a small crit on your excellent work!
A . Smoothen this area so , you dont get krunky polygons
B . Add more detail to this location
C . Smooth has been used at an extremely high amount making it like fluid instead of metal.
D . Make it look more separate than the right wind. Make it look like its attached , not embeded.
E . There is some modelling anomally there ? or is this lighting / angle illusion? :slight_smile:

thanks maxFX I’m glad you like it :). I changed the things you indicated but found a few other ones I’ll have to fix but I wanted to post the progress anyway. Spent the day building the Bullnose into it thanks to DogmaD otherwise it would have been a problem hehe. We tried different things and came up with this.

I’ll fix the rest of the problems later today or tomorrow

did some platework today with help of victor once more. Had to rebuild the whole hullbuster because of to much polys hehe reduced polycount by 10 I think.

rebuilded and plated:
