What you have done so far is fantasic, If you need more I will be here  Once this is done we can start on the modules.

Cheers Mark

elelment5 - Killer work as usual, the flames are too cool haha.

DogmaD - nice modeling work, looking forward to more detail.

Thanks Kid Mesh

Mark, its not working. You see, the bottom looks good on sketch, but the part at the bottom is a bit escher like. In other words, it works in 2D, but in 3D, its physically not possible to have it look like that. You see, the distance between the front and back where you have added the new part is far longer than the object you placed there. It is sort of hanging in the foreground, haha! Anyway, the back is working and i am modelling that at the moment. I don’t really want to connect the front to the back with hullplating. But more with inner work not plated yet. You, know, a lot of depth and open space.

But i will try some things first. After this i will start on the V-twin module. But that will be in some weeks.

#984

Its all good, things dont always work out…lol. Maybe some more plumbing or some docking clamps for when in storage or repairs on the battleship. Some inner lighting (neon) would look cool too…just a thought hehe. well like i said if you need me to do more drawings dont hesitate to ask my friend…

#985

the fighter is looking cool guys!
im just hoping that there are some mauvering thrusters in there!
hope you all had a good xmass!

Concept of planet XM13, idea by Monday1313

#987

Hi all,

Nice concept Mark,
I have continued modelling the Bullnose. I think i am at about 80% done with modelling, i don’t know if i will start texturing it right away. I might, but i think i will go back to the Ceph light fighter first. The render is not as clear in the new areas as i would have liked, but thats because i am only using 2 different materials at the moment.

Oh, i have also added rotating manouvring thrusters at the bottom.

This is my modelling todo list:

 • Landing gear
 • Detail the front
 • Small detailing here and there

#988

thats an asskicking supermegaultrahighskilled designed… ehh… thing… glider? oO

whoooooa !

where can i fly this beauty? it looks small somehow?

i love the flames ^^

edit: haha… now i saw the scetches okk lol sry xD

#989

Victor, That is perfect. It works for me…The Hotrod of Aegis…hehe.

b00bie, love ur user name…lol Thanx for dropping in

#990

@Boobie:

Yeah, i know it looks a bit small. Must be the GI. It isn’t that big in real life. About 5 meters in length ( I have resized the hatch in the back, its a lot larger now ). The person enters in the back and is placed horizontal in the pod. Sort of like a cocoon. Then vision is projected on him through a system. So its really claustrophobic in there.

Anyway, the scale will become clear when there are more visual elements in the scene. For example, people walking around it. Also, texturemapping will play a big role.

I am still trying to figure out how to create a good looking landing gear, but besides that i am about done modelling i guess.

#991

Ok, modelling stage complete. On to texturing!

#992

Fantastic what I see above

I am currently working on a car for the background in a chase scene. It too early to post some screenshots, but I’m modelling the yellow small car sketch wich is quite some pages before here.

I hope it’s good that I’m working? But as said in my previous post, I’m quite bizzy with other things too, and not very good in holding my promises on projects, so this could be the very beginnen of a serie wonderfull post for this project, though It could just be the last one either, becouse I don’t have anymore time

Goodluck with this absolutely wonderfull project though

#993

wow, that looks great victor… that is a kickass looking view…:applause:

#994

holy crap that model is insanely detailed!! how many polys is that?? How long did it take to make?? How did you start it?? if you have multiple scene files of it, could you mabye post some wire renders of its earlier stages??

#995

Hi Critterslayer,

Its pretty detailed. I still need to optimize its polycount. But to be honest. I have not payed any attention to it. As i figured we are currently working for a graphic novel. Rendering time is far less an issue.

So its sitting at 290.000 at the moment. Which is pretty high, about the same as the destroyer. But optimization is hard, because there are so many small parts. And most of the parts just take 1000 or 2000 polygons. So there is not that much i can do about it. Smooth surfaces just take polygons.

I started the 25th. But I didn’t really spend a lot of time on it. Christmas and all. I started by making the outer shell and then work my way through parts i knew for a fact would stay the same. This was done in no time. Then i started filling in the blanks. The progress is just in the last 3 renders. The hard part was making everything fit in there. I wanted no collision between all the different objects in the scene. For example, the engines in the back have pipes going into the ship. But they can’t collide with the landing gear. So i had to move things around a little. And there are more of these places, like the engine and the front. In the front, the engine sticks through and you can see it through and opening in front. I have not shown this yet. So i will make a render of it.

#996

Hi all, this looks like a great project, good luck with it. I modeled this based on Marks Dagger Concept (Whats up man, any word on CW?) Anyway, thought I would post it up, its about 90% complete, working the engines and rear, then final details to be added. Probably won’t texture it…we’ll see. Hope you like, and would like to hear what you think. Thanks.

:applause: :scream:

Dude that is so awesome!! What program are you using? If its 3D max can I get a copy of the mesh, I would love to have a go at texturing it  . Have you showed Bruce from Dagger? I havnt heard from Tom (CW) lately…hope to soon. Great to hear from you…

Take care
Mark

#998

Mark,
Thanks man, but looks like I goofed, thought this concept was for the Aeigis Project. Sorry guys. I use Lightwave, I don’t believe it will export for 3DS, but I will check. I could certainly create UV’ maps for you. I really dig your work, have another concept of yours in the pipe

What’s up with this project? it looks really interesting - but somewhat dead… I visted the official forums and theres not much new stuff - I heard the leader is away. When is he coming back?

#1000

Hi Digitalfog!

Haha, shame the concept is from another project, but it still looks cool

Happy new year to all by the way! I am really tired from last night. But it was fun.

Al-X, its not dead at all, but it has been faster at moments. Are you looking at the right forum by the way? http://aegis.maxfx.gr/ ? You probably won’t see that much because we have protected a lot of the threads against the outside world, so you won’t see as much as there is to see. But i think we have at least 8 people working at the moment and a lot more active users than that, probably around 20 i guess. So its not dead, its just internet based -> slow.

Haha, anyway, about Dene, he will be back this month. But check back on the site in a week or so. There might be a big update.
