AEcs5 - User Plugin folders how to index?

#1

AE is not seeing plugin folders that are in the correct folder.

Example:
How to install Normality fo AEcs5?
Path with folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS5\Support Files\Plug-ins\Effects\minning.de Normality\mi_Normality3.aex

Folder is not seen in AE, Plugin is not seen in AE

Path
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS5\Support Files\Plug-ins\Effects\mi_Normality3.aex

plugin is not seen in AE

It may simply not register properly. Perfectly possible, given the highly experimental status of the CS5 version.

highly experimental status of the CS5 version

experimental you say?

well I am new to AE and would not know how to apply that info, this is the only version I’ve owned, but I’ve had years of looking at plugins and now I’m trying to sort out what AE can / can’t do that 3rd party plugins can.

Some plugins might not be necessary because the effects are built into AE, but I don’t know that, yet.

appreciate the reply!

As Stefan’s page says - largely untested, meaning anything can happen - or not. Whether you need the plug-in or not is subject to your own workflows. I rarely ever have used it, but other people use it all the time…
