Advice for Photorealitic Rendering direction from C4D?

Just reading this thread and finding it interesting.

Wanted to make sure you realize that the new Mac Pro will ship with AMD Radeon Pro Vega or AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo video cards. No nVidia. And with Open GL deprecated in the OS, I doubt you can add them aftermarket either.

The new Mac Pro is supposed to ship with a FREE copy of the all new Octane X, and Redshift will also be releasing their Metal compliant version soon. Plenty of options going forward for rendering on either CPU or GPU on a Mac.

Hi ant1-1,

I did a basic scene with a vray sun so you can investigate (plus I found it pretty difficult to get my way around c4d). Its very basic but you can do a lot with this. Vray is basically set to default settings, sun is default, scene is basic. From here you can either adjust exposure or do it in post (to ensure you dont crush your blacks/whites).

Its Cinema 4D R18 + Vray 3.7

Actually I read about the Nvidia thing recently but if im buying a 3d machine it will probably be a PC, even though ive not got any space to put it lol

Its unlikely I will ever have enough free cash to but a top spec Mac Pro anyway, shame.
