Adding a sky to a fully rotating video sequence?

#1

Hi all -

I have a scene I rendered out in Maya that has a camera and aim rotating around an object via a motion path. Its an outdoors scene so there needs to be a sky. I plan on (or would like to) have some pretty fierce clouds in the sky moving faster than normal by using a separate video track as the clouds.

Now, my question is, what is the best way to do this? Since the camera rotates a full 720 degrees around my object, how should I go about putting a sky in my shot?

One method would be to use Trapcode Horizon, it will create basically a sphere around your scene and you can put whatever image, texture etc in there. Just make sure it is seamless or you will see the seam.

This is perfect and exactly the answer I was looking for. Thank you!
