add mesh selections to overall selection...

so using the lasso tool while holding ctrl + shift will allow me to select out regions of my mesh and i can toggle visibility of that region. but with complex meshes, i must use the lasso tool over and over to cut out delicate shapes to mask out the region i need visible.(much like an ant cutting off chunks of a leaf) originally it used to be (ctrl+shift and drag lasso around region then let go of shift which SHOULD change the selection from green to red) but when i let go of shift with the selection still held down, it does not turn to red, it stays green and does not work.

However it seems this no longer works, did zbrush change their hot keys for doing this?

Here is a tutorial that I was looking at but it also has it done the “old way” which for me no longer works:

I finally figured it out. It is very easy and ANYONE could have answered and received rep. But apparently people just don’t care.

Anyway for those who used older versions of zbrush and are having the same problem, this is the fix:

The new hotkey is ctrl + shift + Alt. Which is more comfortable to do than the old ctrl + Shift click/drag lasso then - shift…

I hope this will help a lot of Googlers out.
