Adaptive skin crashing, using 26 spheres

#1

I am running ZBrush 4R6 on OSX Yosemite if that makes any difference. I have an arm I sculpted using zspheres, and whenever I go to preview or make an adaptive skin the program just crashes. I’ve restarted the computer, I’ve googled the crap out of the keywords I can think of, and I’m just at a loss. I can skin a significantly smaller zsphere sculpture, but that doesn’t help me. I need to be able to use adaptive skin on THIS one. Anyone have any tips? Would anyone mind taking my file and see if you can skin it for me?

zsphere shouldn’t be to large in file size,
if its small enough i will take a look, you can upload zip file from this forum attachments

Hey thanks! I REALLY appreciate it! I’ve posted this question on numerous forums, including zbrushcentral, and have not gotten a reply on any of them.

I occasionally run into this same issue and it is always comes down to something being wrong with the way the zspheres are set up. Perhaps you have a zsphere inside another or some are too close to each other.

I did have a zsphere inside of another, and I was able to skin it then! I cleaned it up and now I cannot. Grr You’re probably right. I attached it so you can look at it if you’d like.

works fine here,
i herd naming could be the problem like for mac
like zsphere_1 see the underscore _ as in _1
try naming like
zsphere1.ztl
NOT
zsphere_1.ztl
this is only a guess

in the zip i took your carnivalcatarm.ZTL and resaved it and named it to carnivalcatarm2.ZTL
i all so skinned it
