Activate the backdrop

#1

How do I activate the backdrop in blender 2.53 Beta? I do understand “Do composite” but I cannot find such a setting in 2.53?
I don’t get it…

Also can we talk a little about scripts in the 2.53 version… Is the equivalent of scripts the “Text editor” in 2.53?

Sincerely
Mattias

Not much documentation about the newer versions. :curious:

What do you mean by backdrop ? Adding background images as references? But then you mention do composite which has nothing to do with this but with rendering from the composite nodes. Can you be clearer what you are looking for as both of these functions are in blender 2.5beta

Oh sorry yes I am thinking about 50 things at the same time when I type, lol.
*Yes, to activate “Backdrop” for composite nodes when you gonna add image overlay in composite nodes, where is the “do composite” and where do I activate backdrop?

thanks for the help.

I don’t have blender open at the moment so from memory.
The ‘Do Composite’ I believe is a selection in the Render settings in the Post Processing panel. I recall it is actually selected by default so if you have a composite node active it renders from it.

Hmm I guess that is renamed “compositing” in the 2.53 version then…?.. hmm doesn’t work for me though… the backdrop remains black…

appreciate the help

the backdrop only shows the content of a viewer-node.
so first add–>output–>viewer, activate it and then you can see the backdrop.
hint: use ctrl+shift+left-click to change between different nodes.

Ahh Sweet!!! Many, many thanks that worked like a charm.
This was killing me. lol

Is there anyway that one can activate a raytrace engine through nodes? Particurlarly Lux render?

sebastian, this is awesome btw, thanks again. Starting to mess around with some nodes settings now.
