About to smash my screen (Can't select Vertex mask)

#1

Hi, im realy realy piss off this morning with AE, i have a realy simple mask that i want to animate.

Problem is, i can’t select indivualy a vertex, they are all selected and they move all together, i spent 2h to find a way, but i can’t…

When i use the selection tool they are already all selected.
Anywhere i click and drag it will take another mask and change the bezier curve.

This is so ridiculous, im sure its a simple trick, and not a bug (i hope).

Sounds like an odd problem. I have’nt been able to reproduce it in After Effects to help troubleshoot. The only idea I can offer is you might need to trash your preferences. (Make a backup first in case that isn’t the cause). You mentioned mask, but are you working on a shape layer? It can be a little more tricky to edit individual points on a shape layer than a normal mask, but it still should’nt give you that much hassle.

Maybe someone else will have a better idea

I did but the problem still there.
I try to isolate the layer so i can show every one, but when i delete everything else the problem disapear.
When i create a new solid, creat mask, the problem is not there.

I try to desactivate all thing wich i activated, problem still there… i just don’t know what cause that.

I should have the white square when dragging but i don’t have that some time… why why gnnn

hi,
Is it a 3D layer? I’ve notices some odd behaviour with masks on 3d layers. If this is the problem I only know a workaround: add a solid above it with a mask to use as alphamatte

If it’s not, did you try editing the mask in the layer window? (AE SC3: dubbel click on the layer)
Hope this helps.
