I’m a French student, and this year, I have to direct a one minute short film on the subject of dance. In my story, a man dances with the smoke of his cigarette which transforms into a woman.
I’ve done several tests, but I can’t get the result I want. My way to do it is to take a modeling of a woman, to make a black and white texture where the white is on one sides of her body, arms and legs, and to place this map as a smoke source.
Here are some results :
As you can see, the problem is that we don’t see a woman formed by the smoke, but an invisible woman smoking. I mean, we can see that I used a modeling as an emitter, and the smoking areas are really too sharp (I’m not sure to be really clear right now, tell me if you don’t understand what I mean).
I’d like to have a result like these ones :
