A way to charge preanimated objects to vue?

#1

Hi, I wonder if there’s a way to load objects of 3dmax or maya preanimeted to vue?
Can anybody help me?

#2

Yes, from Max. You need to use the Max to Vue object converter available for download in the software update page at e-on.

#3

Sorry, but where is it, 'cause I can’t find it

Hi Darkdreams,

look in the folder that has the installer for your Vue xStream

Vue 6 xStream Install\Export Plugins\Windows\3DSMax 9 32bit

thats the path - copy all those files into this max folder (depending on which version you have): C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 9\plugins

you can also download the plugin from this link - its under the software updates.

Keep an eye on this page as well

Software Updates (you may need to be logged for it to work - in case the link fails - register for an account)

Thnks Solomon!!! :applause:

#7

welcome

it’s a nice plugin. It has saved me countless hours of frustration with Vue xStream. Wish it were available for Maya as well. They keep promising but are yet to deliver.

#8

hmmm… maybe they’re expecting to to it in the next version of vue…
i c that i have to update my soft, cause I use ma 9 and this plug is for the 8

#9

mmm… nop, i still don’t c that it is animated…
I export the model to vue, but it doesn’t work or I don’t know how to do it, could you give me a little help, solomon?

#10

if you can, do post your animation file so I can take a look at it - one thing that you need to make sure, is that you have the latest build.

Also make sure you are using the correct version of the VOB plugin.

here it is. Hope you can tell me what went wrong.

#12

Hi Darkdreams,

I just loaded your VOB into my vue and its working - its animated, the large blades are rotating clockwise, and the length of the animation is 13.33 seconds, 320 frames at 24 frames per second - so the export that you did from Max to Vue worked.

are you not seeing that when you load the VOB in vue 6?

#13

no i don’t c the animation, can you explain me how you do it? Maybe is that I don’t know how:shrug:

#14

K,

I think what I will do is create a quick video tutorial for you so you can see the steps and follow along - its a quick one so it wont have audio

but you can follow the mouse and do exactly what its showing.

I didn’t know you could import animated objects from 3d max. It’s of no use to me because I use C4D though. :frowning:

After you import, make sure you open the time line and make the scene animatable.

#19

hmmm… I think you can import from c4d too…
