a question about vertex map-help me

i,m a fresher in modo(3 day),i found vertex map is difffcult to me,as the fig below,when i creat a vertex map,the vertex map couldn’t show it ,why?

I’m not sure exactly what you are asking. If you expand the Weight Maps list, does your newly created weightmap appear? It should be there.

Do you just want to see the weightmap in the 3D view? Set shading type to vertex map. Positive values are red, negative are blue.
