This is a lot of nice improvements to the features 401. Animation is long over due. I was hoping particle systems would be a major focus of 601.

Not sure of my final verdict yet, but I was pretty sad after looking at the 501 feature tour. Modo is still an incomplete package.

yes it is true, modo is incomplete, but to be honest, i am much more glad they polished all the tools rather then implement a bunch of new incomplete ones.

But hey i am strictly a modeler, not an animator. Cant wait to try the new 501.

i’m not an animator either but yep, particles would be nice for fx

i do agree modo is an incomplete package but at the same time i think it's the most complete package on the market today for modeling

give these guys some more time and they'll take the world. modo 801 or 901 gonna be sick if they keep going in the same direction :)

That renderer makes me drool. I don’t think its the most ultra-realistic, but it makes pretty pictures.

render in 501 is much better and much faster then 401. so it’s an improvement anyhow :slight_smile:
