3dsmax: reaction controller problem

i use 3dsmax 2009. i am trying to do the tutorial described in “reaction controller” page in 3dsmax manual. but the slave object doesn’t follow the animated master object. and i don’t know what mistakes i have made!

i follow these steps:

  • create 2 boxes.
  • animate one of them in x axis.
  • select the other one, go to motion panel, highlight the “position: position xyz” track and then assign position “reaction controller”.
  • in reaction manager dialoge, highlight “unassigned”, right click and choose “replace master”. then choose the animated box as master.
  • on pop up menu i choose: transform > position > x position

ok i have animated one of the objects and defined the still one to follow the movement of the animated one. but as i slide the time slider, the still box remains freezed and not moving.
what’s wrong with my procedure?
