3DS Max - Wrong area converts from spline to 3D Poly

Hi,

I’m having a problem when converting an editable spline to a editable poly whereby it converts the wrong area to the 3d poly. I’ve tried several things but can’t work out why it’s doing it.
See the before and after pictures below:

After converstion to editable poly:

Please help if you can. I’m sure it’s something simple due to my lack of experience.

Didn’t figure out why it was doing this but created it how I wanted a different way. Would still be interesting to know why it does this if anybody has any ideas?
