3dmax 2012- 32bit procedural noise/fractal maps acting like 8bit

Hi, i wanted to render a 32bit procedural noise map from 3dmax, i right clicked on the map viewer, there is a render option there, then i choose multiple formats, hdr, exr, none of them gave me a 32 bit map, i mean, photoshop said they are 32 bit, but when i played with exposure, they worked just like 8 bit maps, i expected the noise map’s white/dark large spots to work like white lights in a studio HDR image. Am i doing something wrong or expecting too much :curious: ?
