Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeoww!!! You know where to post 'em! :bounce:

#142

i tried post a pic with the refs i used (real life) but i got some error so i will do it later, but basically the model looks fairly close to the real person (used front+side refpics), shes a strange looking girl…to say the least.

anyways i will try to fix up those things u suggested.

thank you for the feed back, i;ll post again when i think its more ready.

cheers,

m1tCh,

No prob! Hmm, do you use a photo account like photobucket.com? If not, here’s a tutorial (it’s a sticky at the top of this forum):

New to CGTalk? Learn how to post IMAGES here!

[left]If you use photobucket, you shouldn’t have any problems. It’s free (they give you a certain amount of free space). You upload your images, it assigns your images a URL, and then you copy and paste the URL into the CGTalk Text Editor’s yellow mountain/sun icon. Then your image should appear.

Looking forward to seeing your update! BTW, what 3D program do you use?

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

well i just got back from work, so i haven’t had a chance to work on the model yet…but anyways i’m using 3d studio max 7.

#145

Hey Rebeccak!
Heres my wip model

for some reason the front looks real bad, any help?

#146

rblitz, thats a great looking model (not the most attractive looking dude, but a good model none the less), any chance of a wire (i just like to see how other people put there models together).

rebeccak what u think of mine now?

rblitz7,

Hey there, good to see your work here! I think this is looking nice so far. My main recommendation would be to add a bit more mass to the back of the head. Are you working in Maya? You might try using a lattice or something ~ up to you. Also, do you have any of Burne Hogarth’s books? They are great for breaking down complex form into geometric shapes, which makes his books great references for 3D artists! Also, can you post the Reference image you are using? That would be useful to see. Thanks for posting!

m1tCh,

I think you are still experiencing some linking problems ~ both links link back to this page. Not sure what is happening ~ can you try to post your images again?

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

the links should work now, if not just copy and paste them into a browser it will def. work that way.

#149

Yeah nice model man!
Maybe some things to try would be first switch on symetry or add a modifier to your stack so we can see the whole thing,… its hard with a half view.
Meybe some stuff you could try would be to pull back the area under the nose in profile to give the lips more shape.
The eyes might be a bit broad, try get one eye space between them and they could be a bit close to the outside of the skull.
Foreheads are generally a bit flatter and there seems to be no brow ridge, but then again this is gen stuff and you might have an exact copy of the referance you are trying to model. Did you start modelling from the lips or with nurbs or is it box modelling,… whatever try include a 3/4 view as sometimes we consentrate too much on front and profile and forget the other angle.
Oh yeah,… save that sucker under a different file name and once you are freed from the tyranny of making a mistake you can really rip into the mod, that can save you hours of timid tweaking. You are at the most important stage of the model because if the base form doesn’t please you no ammount of texturing or lighting will ever fix that.

Anyhoo here is my latest over done! ha ha!

Keep it up!
Cheers Chris

Well I started with a simple face sketch I found online but I deleted them later because im trying to go from memory, and I do have Dynamic Anatomy by Burne Hogarth. It is very good, ill look more in depth at it. Oh and im working in maya.

#151

hey kanga thats an awesome model ur working on there, love the helmet thing, did u design it urself? and for somereason the pink suits him lol ;).

#152

Ha ha thanx man:).

Yeah pink was just the colour of the primative thet came up, mebey it makes him look friendlier.

Hey nice model yourself,… looking forward to seeing how she turns out,… for some reason I still prefer lady models over chaps anyday! Hope you will post the progress here.

Cheers Chris.

Edit, oh yeah forgot,… I designed the helmet to go with a suit of armour.

#153

Hey guys,

Good to see more work here! Kanga, nice model! I’m intrigued by the design, what is the concept for the model, and for what type of project are you creating this for? Definitely interested to know.

I’ll try to post more comments later ~ been super busy lately, but trying to keep up with you guys!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

#154

Ha ha being busy is a good thing!
The model is part of a wip I have been busy with. Being a product designer I tend to make futuristic stuff so this model is an attempt to balance out the folio. I wanted to show I can make antiquated figures as well. Due to lots of input the model has evolved alot from the original concept which I am pretty happy with. The wip is the Sir Dwezil link below my siggy.

Thanx very much for your comments and its good to hear you are a busy bee:).

Cheers Chris.

harshdeep,

It’s funny, because the other day someone mentioned how cool your name was! Hehe, the rest of us have to live with boring names! :scream: But at least I get to have a cool avatar, though I can’t take the credit! Goro thought it was pretty funny that I always say ‘ROFL’…I guess I’m pretty easy to entertain! :scream:

Are you doing these for a work project, or just on your own?

Cheers,

~Rebeccak
