3d dds tearing using texturing

I am new to 3d part of Photoshop.

I have a question.

I wish to type text on to a .dds file; but when I do, it does not cuts and breaks the text apart.

Is there away to type a text and let Photoshop break it and put the parts correctly into the .dds file?
