Awww… US resdients only?
That’s only SOME CGS members!

Still, a great deal for you lucky northern americans!

#3

If you took advantage of their promotions you would have get it cheaper than that…this does not make sense

229 for boxed version
180 for dl version

#4

Sorry, but I’m not seeing where the savings are. If you go to Corel’s site you’ll see that the boxed set is discounted for everyone at the same price.

See for yourself

#5

US resdients only?..No Fair :banghead: :shrug:

#6

Yeah that is a pity

#7

so what’s the point to get CGS memebership if you’re not US Citizen.

#8

beh :frowning: Take away this offer. Go fix it and bring it back to the ENTIRE cgs membership when you are done

#9

woohoo, something only available to the US Population… and for the rest of us… the nice warm feeling that we’re living somewhere else…

Maybe we should organise something like a mass/bulk buy in each area of the globe, someone in Australia, asia, US, North us, Europe, etc… so if / when something worth wild comes our way, the person who is in the “insert location here” where its only available to, can buy up for the rest of the interested party’s then they could foward all the $$$ to them, maybe thats a vailid idea considering things when their released are only available to “insert location here” residents…

I’m starting to loose sight of what CGSociety is offering me. Not only is this a US only deal but the “Discount” is more expensive then Corel is offering it to everyone, by $50.

#11

Not bad, but it wasn’t long ago that Corel was offering Painter full-version for the upgrade price. I got hooked up with that deal.

#12

The sad thing is that you can get this item for the same price as Kirt has said without the so called promotion. I placed both the promotion item and the regular priced item in a cart. Under the promotion item it says “You saved 35%!” under the regular item there was nothing, but the price on the full version was $229 for both. There was no difference. Am I seeing it wrong? Wheres the savings?

#13

I did the same: regular and promotion item in the cart with the same outcomes. I’m not sure who’s talking to who, but someone must have misunderstood a little bit. I’m pretty sure the title of the thread should also include “US CGS Members”, assuming it’s any sort of deal besides what they already offer on the site.

I have pulled the offer until I receive clarification regarding Corel’s position. They launched a special price on their public site concurrent with us launching the CGS offer totally negating any benefit to CGS members. I can only guess why this has happened and my guess would be that it is one department in a big company not talking to another department in a big company. Whatever the case I apologize for announcing a ‘non-offer’.

Getting these offers up is a lot of work for us as we are trying to take these larger providers into uncharted territory. Getting them to offer benefits outside the US is also a major challenge which we are continuing to work on. However we believe a limited offer is better than no offer at all.

In the meantime we will endeavor to prove to suppliers that the CGS represents a solid cross section of industry professionals and by offering discounts to CGS members they have an excellent vehicle for a ‘controlled’ promotion with results they will see in their bottom line.

Depends which side of the pond you’re sitting on I guess

Hi all,

We have clarified the hiccup we had a week or so ago and we are pleased to announce that Corel is offering CGSociety members 15% discount on boxed versions of Painter IX. This offer is addittional to Corel’s current promotions which means you will receive full version at the upgrade price PLUS an extra 15% off!

As a member of the CG Society, you know that digital art offers you unlimited opportunities to explore your creativity. Whether you're into art, illustration, game design, animation or film, you need tools that can keep up with your creative vision.

Currently we can only extend this offer to US based members however we are negotiating with Corel to extend similar offers into other territories in the near future.
