24000x1080 image disappears at HD res.

Yeah, I was worried about this when I first came up with the idea…but here I am.

I have a couple images that are 24,000x1080. When I render smaller resolution it’s fine, but at full HD resolution those big image just disappear. I set up AE to purge every 60 frames during the render to avoid the “full image buffer” error, but now the images don’t even show up in the render.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Switch to Nuke. Sorry to say so, this seems a pretty pointless venture to even try in AE. And if you wanna purge, every 1 frames is more like it…

how about a useful suggestion since I’m already in the middle of the project.

How much RAM do you have? It may be a pointless venture, but upgrading that could help. Maybe tweaking with your cache size could too. That’s a huge image map though, if there is any way you can downsize it, it might be helpful.

The only viable option inside AE, would be to tile up your large image into smaller ones, then stitch tem together as individual layers. AE is smart enough to not render anything that is 100% off canvas/ invisible, so this may improve memory consumption in such a way, that something can be rendered.
