2010 sp1 - 3 bugs. U-571/2/3 ?

Render manager.

Test steps.

  1. add two items to the output - pass shaders tab (any - enviro, volume, output, lens), if you highlight one of the 2 or 3 or 4 etc then click delete.

BUG: it does NOT delete the selected item, but it does delete any other one!

Render manager.

Test steps.

  1. Add Lens shader in the output - pass shaders tab.

BUG: it takes you to the wrong directory. Lightmap.

Playback.

Test steps.

  1. create scene 500 frames.
  2. create sphere
  3. frame 1 key sphere
  4. frame 500 move and key sphere
  5. camera view eye icon, check on frame rate
  6. check “ALL” button to make RT - real time playback.
  7. press Play > shows correctly 24 fps.

BUG: press play backwards > completely disregards RT playback option.

Hope this helps you make the product better.

And if anyone knows there if there are edits to vbs’s etc to fix any or all of these please let me know. Thanks.

If you’re on Subscription (but who isn’t nowadays? :deal: ;)), you probably should go to the “Subscription Center” and log a “Support Request” there…

With the factory-default User preferences, Add Lens shader takes me to the Output folder.

Browse to the Output folder, it will be stored in your preferences as the Last Folder for Lens shaders. Next time, Add Lens will open to that folder.

Thanks for the info Stephen, just an fyi, that was a clean install of win 7 with a clean sp1 x64. That one wasn’t a big deal but i posted it either way.

PS. Thank you for the excellent “Stephens seven steps to successfully setting up Softimage”. When’s the hardback out :slight_smile:

XSI’s audio/video playback system is not capable doing real time playback in reverse. It’s not a bug that it kicks you temporarily in ‘All’ mode while playing backward. The interface reflects what’s happening.

The output shader stack widget only ever adds at the bottom, and ignores the selection and always deletes at the top. That’s a known bug.

I have found a bug, I took a scene which I have to complete that was created in Softimage 7.x and whenever I render preview or render the pass Softimage 2010 just crashes. I’ve tried to edit various options and no luck.

Guys, this isn’t AD’s alternative bug report form, and reports such as “I have this scene…” without the scene tend to be useless.
Write to autodesk first, and if you post here do so when looking for workarounds, solutions, or even confirmation if AD couldn’t repro, but don’t start using this forum as an uncontributive bug reporting site. Thanks.
