2010 - License Install Problem

#21

The Perform Status Enquiry does shows that the server is running and licenses are available.

I had already trawled the internet and the links already in this thread to find a solution yesterday. I’ll check your links and the bat file and give it one more go. If it doesn’t work, I’m just going to uninstall 7.5 and 2010 and just start afresh with 2010.
thanks

You don’t need to uninstall 7.5 or 2010.

Do you get the “No interactive network license available” message when you try to start Softimage 2010 ? If not, then you need to edit setenv.bat and change the licensing method to Network:

set SILicMethod=Network

If you do get “No interactive network license available”, then that means Softimage cannot connect to the license server.

In setenv.bat, check the setting of _ADSK_LicServers.
If you are on Vista, you have to use the IP address instead of the hostname to specify the license server.

Can you still start 7.5?

Ok, very very last option

I get that no Activation notice - You have 29 days remaining to register and activate your Audodesk Softimage 2010. What would you like to do?
-Activate
-Run the product

I’ve tried to activate but it never recognises my serial no and if I select that I do have an activation I don’t know what to paste or copy from the license.

Can you still start 7.5?

I’m getting the same message as when starting 2010. Don’t know what I’ve done wrong.

This is what I get from the Perform Status Enquiry

Status

Flexible License Manager status on Wed 9/16/2009 20:36

[Detecting lmgrd processes…]
License server status: 27000@XXX

Users of 78600SFTIM_7_5F: (Total of 1 license issued; Total of 0 licenses in use)

I went through the videos yesterday

ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE should point to your license server…

Just to be sure that would be C:\Program Files\Autodesk Network License Manager\SFTIM2010enlicense.lic

I’m going to go through it all again, here’s hoping.

You have to change the LicMethod to Network.

If you don’t get “No Interactive Network License Available”, that means Softimage is using the Standalone licensing method.

You don’t need to Activate again (besides, that works only for a Standalone license).

ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE should point to the license server computer.
For example, if your computer name is L33tace, then you should have

ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE=@l33tace;

Got it fixed, thanks to Stephen

Even though I have Windows XP Prof x64, my computer (Dell Precision T7400) has IPv6 enabled which is mainly related to Vista errors, my IP address is being used instead of my server name.
