2008 Mattepainting Reel

Click me to view my REEL

This is my 2008 Demo Reel for Mattepainting and Environments. A few of the scenes like the images below are not entirelly mine. Most of the modelling of moving objects and VFX is done by a separate team. I just made all the mattes. The Fist image though is 90% mine, but the models were done with a fellow mattepainter / texture artist (to0 much load for me to model hahahahaa!)

Right now though, I’m in the process of updating my Reel… hopefully better than this one HAHAHAHA.

If you are interested to view the short film, here are the links:

As always, any comment is welcome.

some really nice shots there eyecon, congrats! Your reel in general has a lot of impact.
If you have time, it would be good to have some more realistic shots in there, set extensions etc that are less dramatic just to show you can do the invisible stuff too.

Crazy camera moves in there tho, nice job!

That’s awesome!
Gotta ask - how did you do the nuclear explosion? Been trying to model one myself and I can’t get it right.

space-sprayer :
thanks! The camera moves mostlly are not mine, except for the very first scene and a few scenes like the huge building by the sea. The second scene, with a 270 degree turn is a scene from a short film. Enjoyed doing that much.

As of the moment I’m currentlly in the process of doing the “Invisible Art” mattes, applying all the things I’ve learned from the masters at ILM.

thundering1 :
Thanks man! Like I mentioned before, that part I did not entirelly created self. That scene was taken from a short film so another guy was assigned to create that nuclear explosion. soory dude. But he did use 3dsmax with the another plug-in for the smoke. Once again thanks!

Nice Job. Definitely 2 thumbs up. I’m curious though, what program did you use for the tree animation.
