I may have been in some sort of metaphorical coma for the last nine months or so - and I have woken up with the same problems. I can export a 16bit displacement map from Mudbox - then do a mesh displacement in Mud and the model looks the same (entering the -7 and 7 values or whatever they are). I have the non commercial app so I can only export 16bit - and all tutorials I have seen people use 32bit.
When I bring this into Maya to render with MR how do I adjust the Alpha Gain / Offset so that the displacement is the same. It renders out all smooth - Or is it something more that alpha gain etc?
Any help would be much appreciated.
