Rendering 3D elements to be composited with a 10 bit YUV video plate.
Any tips as to how the 3D rendered images should be formatted, color/bit depth.

I would render into something using the same codec as the source or into an uncompressed file sequence with a higher bit depth like 16 bit.
Yuv conversion will only take place when remastering to tape, so don’t worry about that.
