zombie key herding...

Hi Lorenz…
here’s what I do: make keys (individual channel).
Multi-activate channels (leaving setting on “individual channel”)
Move keys via mini-dopesheet. It works.
Tested the dope sheet too - worked.

???

Hmm, yes - it seems to work if you do it that way… multiselect and IndependentChannel-mode.
But when you try Channelgroup, Motion, Object, you-name-the-mode… you get all of a sudden activated inactive undead keys… Independent channel and multiselect appears to be a workaround unless you have loads of items - a complete hierarchy for instance - to retime, then it really is starting to get really annoying again… :-\

hehe… well, yeah. If you shift with channel group active, it will make sure those 3 keys are made active, etc. And this reveals what the guys at pmG were thinking - it might have been an interesting method. (but it isn’t)
Now you know why I wanted the ctl-toggle channel active so badly…
(and got it after only a bit of pestering).

If you have larger hierarchies… hmmm… isn’t it possible to get the edit functions working?

(again - I’m not defending the undead, just trying to help out.)

well, yes edit does its job, but it is (would be anyway) soooooooo much quicker in the dopemaster… Of course: there are workarounds but these really can get very tedious, very easy… :-[

I really appreciate how much you care (…as always  …)
And I am absoultely convinced that there were some rather clever thoughts behind all that but they unfortunately can get in the way very easy also… Hmm…

Still, I think it would a be real blessing to get rid of these pesters. Would make animating with messiah under a tight schedule so much easier - but maybe its just me, and the rest of the world is perfectly fine with it… what do I know
Well you know me :wink: - don´t you? ;°}

Based on some discussions here in the past I can assure you the rest of the world is not at all fine with it.

No, I am happy to say that for once, the world is united!
