zModeler, shift align axis?



bit of a noob question perhaps but when I use move with zModeler and hold down shift (or not for faces), the only alignment i get seems to be along the normal of whatever i’m moving (edge, vertice or face)…
i can’t find any way to snap align to world or component x,y or z.
all tutorials and stuff just says, move this way or that way and hold shift and it will align to the axis your going,
it doesn’t. whatever i’m moving just pops back to sliding along what looks like component normal. anyone know what i’m talking about?
