Hi all
I didn’t know where to go with this so here goes

I’m a student and working on chess program for my final year,
is not all that, it just for two players it doesn’t have vs machine option at the moment. Im working on just getting this part right then if I have time I’ll come up with some sort of ai for it.
when i started out I thought it was gone be simple, but the coding has cramped up.
Anyway im telling you this because I need your feedback, have a look at it and see what you think all comment are welcomed, it will help me get a better grade my supervisor tells me.
Is not finished yet, this is my lets say v1.0 beta release
It dose not have double buffering so you’ll see some flickering when the images are created at first, so stick with it for a bit.

Here is the link to the program
http://quick.dropfiles.net/download.php?file=e7982574cb97d111606268c8ef7714e9
Download it.
Unzip it.
Run the .exe file.

Any problems let me know

Some of the sound is not playing in the jar format, I don’t know why
like when you press “about this game” button and move pones you should here a sound.

Anyway I’ll keep working on it and update you guys as I go.
And if any of you know a right place to post this let me know also.

Thank you in advance
. God speed your replays

Nice…

Nice chess you have there… and some nice tunes
and, btw, that “about” beep sound works on my pc…
I noticed a purple stain behind the chessboard…, you should fix that (board.gif)
And for some reason, sometimes the program wont allow me to switch between players, also, i was allowed to eat an opponent’s king!

I hear that an ai for a chess-based game isnt so easy to program… well, nontheless, it works nice in hotseat (except those abovementioned issues), and you also need to implement turn-based movement, but its fun to play

Nice game that reminded me of those old C64 games… (good old days…)

thumbs up!

have fun

Thanks JozaG

I did that to the board.gif I gave it a layer with 50% transparency on Photoshop but it didn’t came out as I intended in gif, I wanted to give it a glass look.

I’ll work on getting the turn base going, fix the errors you mentioned.

Thanks again.

Leonardo

P.s come on guys don’t be shy comment away :d
