Yet another Alien1 Rig

Hey Guys Iv’e Made a new rig for alien 1.
I have yet to really put it through any testing or paint any weights except on his shrek ears and shoes … and i still need to add controlls for a few things, but i will get to it soon…
Also, i need to go back and zero some controlls, and adjust some rotation points. I did it in a hurry, and Was fairly sloppy in some ways… But it should be ready to do some tests if anyone wants to try it out…
youl have to animate the bones for The torso, head, and right hand for now as i havent added any controlls, but i definitly will over the next few days…
It might not be the kind of rig some people are used to, so i attached some images to help you out…

Il do some tests once i get cought up with work… :blush:

Quick test… mostly to test out shoulders and hips

The problem with the short legs is going to be fine i think, because i set the hip bones really wide and high, so he can and take long sweeping steps if he needs to…

Hi…I’ve seen your thread only now…sorry for the delay. Your setup seems to kick some asses! :slight_smile:

Well…I made a lot of test animations with Ila salomon rigging and, after, with the rig by Nottoshabi.

I would be glad to receive your setup to C&C deeply your work…and, hopefully, to contribute to improve the setup.

I wont be able to do any work on him untill next weekend i dont think, but Im going to ad some eye controls, finger controls, and torso controls when i get a chance… but for now the bones can be animated if you need to.

HEllo,

I know the setup in a WIP version, but I would to suggest you something anyway :slight_smile:

The Lid controller are separated…It will be really uneasy to animate the eye blinking!! :slight_smile:
I need at least one global controller for eye, is it possible?

Then, moving the pole vector controller of the legs, the feet move away from his controllers !! :slight_smile: is is correct?

hmmmmm that is very strange…
i
make sure you are only manipulating the blue and red (poly)objects for the legs and if it still doesnt work i must have uploaded an older version… will upload the new one right now…

the eyelids are not setup yet… most can be rotated if you need to, but i think there are controls for the top(middle) one un its green sphere eye controller…
il be finishing him up this weekend

hey i just downloaded te rig and the feet seem to work fine, what exactly are you doingto make the feet leave the controlers?
just moving the polevector controler?
because it just swivels the knee when i move them…

I moved the pole vector controller, like in the picture (it is selected yet).
