yeehaw, my Wacom showed up...

and the people don’t lie…it’s awesome.

still getting used to it a bit, but it’s only taken a few hours to get the gist of it.

so now i’m curious as to how you wings guys set it up. i’ve realized it’s mouse mode only, but i’m just wondering what other things you guys might use/change.

it seems i can’t use the shortcuts on the wacom because they’re off the screen…is there any work around for that? i’d love to get view changes, and tweak set up as a short cut.

as always, thanks for any input.

i have one as well … but i have just troubles in wings (but gimp under linux is great :)) … what do you mean by “mouse mode”? is this a wings option? or a wacom?

You can set the stylus to mouse mode in the Wacom software. - Baz

qiv-- i have the Intuos 2 tablet, which has a row of “buttons” on the top that i can use to select different functions or actions, instead of using the keyboard, or using the Wacom software. two of the “buttons” let me set the tablet to either “pen” or “mouse” mode. it changes the way the pen functions a little bit. I also think it uses a different sort of signal. pen mode doesn’t really work in wings, it has something to do with SDL not working with wings (not a programmer, so don’t ask me for more than that). any time you use the middle mouse button, or try to pan/rotate the camera, it freaks out the program. mouse mode seems to not do this.

does anyone else know anything about the hot buttons, or whatever you want to call them on the Intuos tablets, and whether or not they can function in Wings?

thanks,
Skippy

pen mode used to work in wings if im not mistaken
but when issues came up with interactive tools and
camera movement bjorn was forced to make some
changes so that the cursor keeps reseting back to the
center of the window

maybe later on he will have the older code reinstated as
a wacom support option

this is based on my memory which was created 26 yrs
ago and the info was stored 2 yrs ago so your dealing
with out dated hardware and possible data loss and
corruption
